"Purple" is the codename for a project that attempts to create a new and innovative way of implementing a 3D package. A Verse client, the "engine", runs alongside the host, and downloads all its data. The engine also loads plug-ins, little black boxes of self-describing code, and exports various interfaces for accessing plug-ins and creating graphs of them. Such graphs can then express computation, using Verse data as input and output where desired, and with the Purple engine sending any changes to existing data back to the host.

Code Availability
Purple is in a state of "alpha". We think most of the needed code is there, but it needs much more testing. To test Purple, please check out the code from the CVS server. Instructions on how to do this are at the Blender project page for Verse, here. The name of the module is "purple", and there are currently no tags or branches to care about.
